The story

Pagac & Co started in 2009 with one crew, one truck, and a simple observation: the contractors doing beautiful finish work rarely answered their phones, and the contractors who answered their phones rarely did beautiful finish work. David Pagac decided a company could do both — and built the systems to prove it.

Seventeen years and thousands of jobs later, that dual identity is still the whole point. On Monday our crews might be setting hand-cut mosaic tile in a Walnut Creek master bath; on Tuesday, turning over six apartment units in Contra Costa County for a property management client on a five-day clock. The homeowners benefit from our operational discipline. The property managers benefit from our craftsmanship. Neither gets a watered-down version.

What we believe

• Paper beats promises. Transparent, line-item estimates, written schedules, daily photo logs, documented change orders. If it isn't written down, it didn't happen.
• The detail is the product. Even reveals, clean caulk lines, laser-set tile. We built an entire Craftsmanship section around close-ups because that's where work is honest.
• Speed is a skill, not a shortcut. Fast unit turnarounds come from checklists and sequencing — never from skipping prep or inspections.
• One accountable team. When specialist trades are needed — windows, HVAC, roofing — we coordinate vetted partners under our supervision, our schedule, and one invoice.

Who leads the work

David Pagac holds California General Contractor License #812248 and personally scopes every project the company takes on. Day to day, each job runs under a dedicated superintendent with direct lines to clients — homeowners get a named contact, and property managers get a named channel with response times written into the agreement.

Our field crews are employees with full insurance coverage — not a rotating cast of day labor. That's slower to scale and better in every other way.

Two audiences, one standard

For homeowners, we deliver kitchen and bathroom remodeling, whole-house renovations, and ADUs across Concord, Walnut Creek, Pleasant Hill, and Martinez — free consultations, transparent, line-item proposals in about 48 hours, and permits handled end to end.

For property management firms, we run unit turnarounds, standing maintenance contracts, and priority make-safe response for multi-family portfolios across the SF Bay Area, with commercial programs reaching Napa Valley and Sonoma County. COIs, W-9s, and portfolio-standard invoicing come with the package.
